The inaugural Himam Trail Run was the result of a vision for local athletes to create a trail running event around the foothills of Jabal Akhdar and highlight the unique terrain and traditional trails of the Al Dakhiliyah area. Starting in front of the history Bayt Al Rudaydah Fort, competitors would their way to the village of Sayq, high in the mountains, before turning and re-tracing their steps down to the finishing line.
